What to Expect the Next Time You Travel

Travel may look a little different, but the joy of getting away from it all remains.

As borders re-open and the possibility of travel becomes real, many have reached out with questions. Having recently returned from a trip to St. Lucia, I am happy to share my thoughts on how safe, responsible travel can happen.

Whenever you’re ready, I’d love to answer any questions you may have about traveling in this new normal. In the meantime, a few quick notes from the trip that may be helpful:

  • Countries, Hotels, and Service Providers have learned a lot. For many, these past months have been an opportunity. Immigration protocols have been enhanced at gateways, and on the ground, updates to safety protocols and social distancing measures ensure local citizens and travelers stay healthy.

  • New Training & Health Checks. Every hotel, tour operator, and country that has re-opened has done so after meeting dozens of highly regulated criteria for training, sanitation, social distancing, and other virus-related policies.

  • Getting there takes planning, but it can be seamless. Depending on the destination, travelers may be required to take a PCR test, submit details of your stay, and/or go through a health check upon arrival. These measures take a little planning, but provide peace of mind once you get where you’re going, allowing guests to vacation as usual.

As we navigate this time together, our responsibility is to protect our families and those with whom we come into contact. The more information we have, the better we are able to achieve these goals. I’d love to be a resource as you make these important decisions. With any questions, please reach out to me at Leslie@LeslieSwansonTravel.com.
