This year, travelers are hungry for adventures that challenge, immerse, and transform. Where once travelers may have felt the pressure to collect destinations like stamps on a passport, the new year marks a shift prioritizing quality over quantity—the “how” over the “where.”

Imagination is the only limiting factor to a great adventure—

As restrictions ease up here in North America and around the world, the opportunities are truly endless. But to get you dreaming, here are five amazing adventures to inspire you into 2021.

Explore California by Bike

From a bike tour in San Francisco to Santa Barbara tours further south, the Golden State is truly a land of plenty. Roads carve the Pacific coastline and roll through stretches of mountain-encircled Santa Ynez. Gorgeous produce grows without effort and abundant vineyards prove you don’t need to visit Europe to enjoy world-class wine. Surfing beaches are only hours from snowy mountains; old-growth redwoods dispel the misconception that California is one of the union’s younger states.

Stop at farm stands and tasting rooms in Napa and Sonoma or spend a weekend in Santa Barbara, the wine country that’s gaining traction with oenophiles and sommeliers alike. Wherever your tours in California take you, you’ll find an oasis of beauty and gastronomy with appealing weather that lends itself to cycling year-round.

experience the Grand Canyon by dory

A dory boat trip through Grand Canyon on Arizona’s Colorado River provides a unique and exciting alternative to an inflatable raft. Grand Canyon Dories are small, traditional and charmingly elegant, rigid boats designed to carry four people and a tremendous amount of gear. At 16′ 9″ stern to bow, with six hatches, passenger benches and hardwood rails and trim, dories are able to run a river much more quickly than a raft. However, a Grand Canyon dory boat trip is not about speed, but about your own intimate, some might say organic experience of the river.

With a high crew-to-passenger ratio, Grand Canyon dory trips provide better access to a more relaxed and energetic crew while they provide travelers with a quality of service unmatched in the industry.

Fly Fish in Patagonia

Patagonia is a must for every outdoorsman and woman, and like anything, the experience is all about location. A prime location in a Patagonia region famous for large wild trout – browns and rainbows – is highlighted by the home waters of the Rio Palena; where you can wade or float right out the front door. Add in a myriad of productive lakes, rivers, and streams in this pristine slice of Chile’s Lake Region, plus a day of helicopter fishing, and you have an unmatched diversity of experiences.

Get up close and personal with the bears

An Alaska adventure is up there with an African safari in discovery and thrills. Bear viewing at some of Alaska’s more remote lodges is a must.

Inhabiting some of the most remote regions of North America, visit the bears in their native habitat.

Getting there is half the journey. Fly by small plane to a remote beach location to watch coastal brown bears graze along the shoreline and in grass fields.

The flight to the bear viewing area will take about 1 hour depending on the area which the guide decides to go and the route of flight that we take to get there. On your way, fly past some of the most amazing and dramatic scenery in Alaska. Here, you have the opportunity to see at least 7 different active volcanoes, giant glaciers and sometimes, whales in the water below. When the weather permits, guests fly over the top of an active volcano on the way.

Once you arrive at the bear viewing site, hike along the coastline and observe the majestic beauty of these incredible animals.
